Donations for the Jesus Messiah Comic Book in three Sámi languages
Imagine: children and teenagers in Lapland opening a comic book in their own language for the first time. Not just any comic, but the story of Jesus the Messiah. For the Sámi peoples in Finland, this is a first: never before has a comic book appeared in their mother tongue. Never has the gospel been so close in both image and language.
The SponsorEvent 2026 and other initiatives are making this possible. All proceeds go toward publishing the Jesus Messiah Comic Book in three Sámi languages. This project is a collaboration between Wycliffe Bible Translators, local churches in Finland, and ECM Netherlands.
Christine, who worked for years on Bible stories and translations, dedicated herself to this unique material until 2023. After that, illness prevented her from continuing. Now the Finnish churches, Wycliffe, and ECM are working together to complete her work.

Three languages, three books
The goal is clear: to reach the three Sámi peoples in Finland with the gospel in their own mother tongue. Two translations have been completed, one of which has also been reviewed. The third is currently being translated. Once the books are ready, they will be distributed through churches and schools in northern Finland.

Why this matters
•    For the first time, a comic book will be published in Inari Sámi, Skolt Sámi, and Northern Sámi.
•    Children and young people discover Jesus in their own language and culture.
•    Your donation makes this possible.

You can make the difference. Donate today and help bring the good news to the far north of Europe.
