AD Transforma: Building Hope – Faith at the Centre of Lisbon
AD Transforma Church, part of the Portuguese Evangelical Alliance, was planted in 2014 in a strategic location between the Lisbon neighbourhoods of Penha de França and Arroios. With just 3% of the population identifying as Evangelical Christians in Portugal, the need for gospel presence is great — and we believe God has placed us here to reach both local Portuguese residents and the growing immigrant population.
Today, AD Transforma is a vibrant, multicultural church of around 60 people. We gather weekly for worship and are actively engaged in outreach to the community. Our activities include regular church services, community events, a charity bazaar, and plans for a Portuguese language course to support newly arrived immigrants.
One story captures the heart of our mission: a local woman who visited the church bazaar heard a voice one day telling her, “Go talk to those people at the bazaar — they can help you.” That encounter led to several conversations with church members and ultimately, to her decision to follow Jesus.
A Building for Mission and Ministry
We believe our church building is a key part of God’s plan. Located in central Lisbon, it has 400m² of space across two floors and serves as a vital base for outreach, discipleship, and community service. Already it is a place of transformation — and there is even more potential.
One additional space in the building could be developed for:

An outreach centre for immigrants

A local community hub

A training venue for new missionaries or Christian workers
We are trusting God — and the partnership of generous individuals and churches — to complete the purchase of this building by June 2026. Since signing the use contract in 2020, over €144,000 has been raised and invested in renovation, rent, and instalments. To complete the final payment, we still need to raise €200,000.
