Rafael & Geise
David, Lorenzo
We are the Oliveira missionary family: Rafael, Geise, and our two beautiful children: David, 12, and Lorenzo, 5.
Nine years ago, the Lord led us to plant a church in the remote hinterlands of Paraíba, in a small town of about 5,000 people called Lagoa. Those were five intense years of hard work. During that time, we worked with children, teenagers, young adults, couples, men, and women. And the Lord gave us many strategies for reaching people, such as evangelism, discipleship, children’s literacy programs, gatherings and scavenger hunts with teenagers, tea parties with women, small groups, couples’ meetings, charity bazaars, and more.
After that period, we worked full-time in our local church and community for two years, at the request of our pastoral leadership.
Our next ministerial challenge is in Portugal, in the mission fields of Montargil and Farinha Branca. Montargil is a town with an average population of 2,000 and only one evangelical church.
Our challenge will be, by God’s grace, to revitalise the mission field in Montargil and support the work in Farinha Branca, as well as to assist the Congregational Church in Ponte de Sor.
