Doug & Chloe Gotcher

Dr. Doug Gotcher of Tucson, Arizona, serves as President of ECMI-USA (European Christian Mission International-USA), a role he assumed on January 1, 2020. Doug brings more than three decades of leadership experience spanning parachurch ministry, local church leadership, nonprofit development, executive coaching, and organizational leadership.

Doug earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing education from Utah State University, where he was a member of the Aggie basketball team, including participation in the NCAA Tournament. During their years at Utah State, Doug and his wife Chloe, a cross-country and track athlete, were actively involved in student leadership with Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU).

Following graduation, Doug and Chloe joined the staff of Athletes in Action (AIA), the sports ministry of CRU, serving initially at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. After two years of ministry training, they relocated to Tucson, Arizona, where Doug founded the Athletes in Action ministry at the University of Arizona and served for many years as the Arizona football team's chaplain.

Doug later became National Campus Director for Athletes in Action, providing leadership for a nationwide ministry structure that included Regional Directors, Campus Directors, and ministry presence on more than 200 college campuses across the United States. His leadership experience has included strategic planning, organizational development, leadership training, team building, fundraising, and mentoring emerging leaders.

In addition to his parachurch leadership experience, Doug has served as an Executive Pastor in a local church ministry. He is also the founder and CEO of Giveplicity, an innovative fundraising platform that helps nonprofit organizations strengthen and diversify their fundraising strategies.

Doug’s ministry experience has also included extensive international and cross-cultural engagement. He has traveled throughout Europe and other parts of the world, teaching, coaching basketball, speaking, and supporting ministry initiatives in countries across Europe, as well as in Thailand and China.

Doug has a Master’s Degree in Biblical Leadership from Grand Canyon University and recently completed a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree in Organizational Leadership, with research focused on leadership communication, discernment, and the role of women’s voices in church leadership conversations.

Doug and Chloe have been married for 37 years and have five children and 2 grandchildren.
